Felicitas Velez Alanis and her daughter-in-law Erika Ortega Alanis were sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to defraud the Texas Medicaid program.

Felicitas Velez Alanis was sentenced to 3 years. Erika Ortega Alanis was sentenced to two years and eight months. Both women will be placed on supervised release for three years, after they complete their prison terms.

A judge also ordered them to repay $616,390.
