Rigoberto Zuniga was arrested in connection with a January 2010 stabbing. An officer stopped him for a traffic violation yesterday. Police said the 36-year-old didn’t have insurance or any identification and gave a false name. But the officer recognized him, and he was taken into custody. His bond was set at $75,000.
Emergency crews responded to a fire in Brownsville. It happened at a duplex on Bouganvillia Drive, across from the Valley Baptist Medical Center. We’re told one person was injured and treated at the scene.

Brownsville police officers are searching for a person of interest in connection with a sexual assault. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call 956-546-8477. Information could lead to a cash reward.
Brownsville police arrested two men in connection with two separate accidents on the expressway. The first happened around 2:20 a.m. Six people were injured and taken to the hospital, after a three-vehicle accident.
Officers said the driver responsible for the accident fled the scene and was later found at his home.
About an hour after that accident, the second accident happened. A 20-year-old is accused of hitting a patrol unit, which spun and hit an officer standing nearby.
Both suspects were arrested.
